This is a bit of a departure, as editing of this degree usually lies outside of my photographic bounds. This image also borders on fantasy, which is something I actively avoid. But when I saw this odd rock seemingly pointed at an early evening moon (that was much much smaller) the image here is the one that immediately came to mind, so I was compelled to bring it to fruition.
For me, the image speaks about how obsessive desire can turn one into a monolith and lends itself well to fable or myth. Today’s twist on narcissism sees a Narcissus who points his gaze at a reflection that is not his own. It may be whichever of the myriad of heroes people rush to put upon a pedestal, and in doing so become the pedestal. Immobile and forgotten.

Prints are developed and crafted to order by the photographer exclusively on top-quality Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl paper, 13" x 19". Each photograph is signed, numbered, and limited to 99 printings. Once 99 prints have been sold, that's it. They're done for good.

While I actually prefer glass, shipping risks prohibit this to be cost-effective so I recommend the buyer frames their photo locally.
